The message in this classic children's book is one we work to teach your children each day. Each child at this point in the year is at a different stage of development. Some children are writing simple sentences, while others are writing with detail. For each of these children, we are encouraging them to their next steps. Each child is determined to keep going as we challenge them to reach for more.

Content and Curriculum:
Next week we will begin the publishing process of our How To Books. This was a shorter writing until because we will begin to write All About Books next. There will be a How To chapter in each All About book. Because it is a short week we will only get to the beginning of our publishing. The following week we hope to have each child take pictures of their books and read their books into the iPads. We will upload these to each child's individual blogs when completed!
Reading strategies next week will continue to focus on the important thinking work necessary when reading. Ask your child about Post It Note Reading. Have them show you the different symbols and what they do when they are reading with their sticky notes.
Our math focus next week will be a short chapter on patterns. We will look at patterns more complex than simple AB.
Thank you to all of the parents who scheduled a time to have a quick check in conference with us. Much of what we spoke about will be what you read in your child's report that comes out the week of conferences. Thinking ahead - please take time to read this comment prior to the conference so we can discuss any concerns or questions you may have!
